Terms of Service

1. Who runs this

Pawology ("we", "us") is an independent, non-commercial project operated by an individual, not a registered company. It is provided free of charge. Contact: info@pawology.de.

2. What Pawology is

Pawology aggregates publicly available pet food product data and computes an informational score using an automated algorithm. It is a research and discovery tool, not a retailer, manufacturer, veterinary service, or certification body. We do not sell, ship, or handle any pet food product. See our Disclaimer for what scores do and don't mean.

3. Accounts

Creating an account lets you save pet profiles and products. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of information you submit (e.g. your pet's allergies). You may delete your account and associated data at any time from your profile page, or by emailing us.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mass-download, or automatically query the site in a way that degrades it for other users
• Attempt to circumvent security, rate limits, or authentication
• Use the service to publish false or defamatory claims about any brand or product
• Misrepresent Pawology scores as official certifications or veterinary determinations

5. Third-party data and links

Product data originates primarily from Open Pet Food Facts, a third-party crowd-sourced database we do not control. Purchase links may take you to third-party retailer sites; we are not responsible for their content, pricing, availability, or transactions. Any purchase you make is solely between you and that retailer.

6. No warranty, limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including harm to a pet or financial loss — arising from your use of, or reliance on, information provided by Pawology.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the law of your country of residence (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by proven negligence, or statutory consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived).

7. Changes

We may update the service or these Terms as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by German law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence that apply regardless of choice of law.
